1. Who we are

DMV Bee is an app for studying for the US DMV written permit test. It's published by Woze Yazılım A.Ş. ("we" or "us"), which is responsible for the information this policy describes.

This policy covers the DMV Bee app for iPhone and Android and this website.

2. What stays on your phone

DMV Bee has no accounts. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, photo or location.

Your answers in the app's first steps (state, license type, CDL tests, age group, reason for testing, test date and language), your lessons, answers, exam results and bookmarks are stored on your phone. The usage events below tell us your state, license type and language, and when you finish a lesson, practice session or exam, with its score. A finished lesson names the lesson and its topic, and a problem report names its question or lesson page, so for CDL they show which test they're about. Your age group, reason for testing, test date, bookmarks and individual answers never leave your phone, and neither does your list of CDL tests.

Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include them, under Apple's or Google's terms.

3. What we receive

We receive only what the app needs to work:

  • Content downloads. To download questions and lessons, the app asks our content server for the file for your state and license type. Like any request on the internet, this sends your IP address and basic details about your phone and app. Our hosting provider may keep them in logs for a short time for security and reliability. We don't use them to identify you.
  • Anonymous usage events. The app sends events such as finishing the first steps, the screens you open, finishing a lesson (named, with its topic), practice session or exam with its score, seeing the subscription screen and how you left it, and errors in the app. Each comes with a random ID the app creates, your state, license type and language, whether you subscribe, whether it comes from a test version of the app, and basic details such as the app version, your phone's type and operating system, and its language setting and time zone. They aren't linked to your name, email address, device ID or advertising ID, and we don't keep your IP address or use it to find your location.
  • Problem reports. When you report a question or lesson page, the app sends the question or page ID, the reason you picked, your comment if you wrote one, your state, license type and language, and the app version. Please don't put personal information in the comment.
  • Purchases. You subscribe through Apple's App Store or Google Play, which handle your payment. We never see your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription: it receives a random ID the app creates, your purchase records, your phone's type, operating system and app version, and your IP address. The app also gives RevenueCat the random ID of its usage events, so subscription events such as a trial starting, a renewal or a cancellation are counted with them.
  • Support emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, including the app details the app fills in for you (app and content versions, state, license type, language, and your phone's operating system and version).

This website collects nothing beyond the basic request details any website receives, and uses no cookies.

4. How we use it

We use this information to deliver content, confirm subscriptions, answer your emails, fix reported content, understand how the app is used, improve it and keep it secure.

We don't use it for advertising or profiling, and we don't make automated decisions about you.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that run parts of DMV Bee for us and may use it only to provide their service:

  • Cloudflare, which stores and delivers the app's questions and lessons and hosts this website.
  • RevenueCat, which confirms subscriptions.
  • PostHog, which receives the app's usage events, error reports and problem reports.

Apple and Google process your purchases under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of DMV Bee, in which case this policy keeps applying to it.

We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

6. No ads and no tracking

DMV Bee has no ads. It doesn't use an advertising ID, a device ID or tracking across other companies' apps and websites, so it never asks for permission to track you.

It doesn't use your location: you pick your state yourself.

7. Children and teens

DMV Bee is made for people studying for a learner's permit, who are usually 15 or older. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Since the app needs no account and asks for no personal details, a teen can use it without sharing any.

If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, for example in an email, write to info@woze.app and we'll delete it.

8. How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above: download logs briefly, usage events and problem reports while they help us improve the app, purchase records as long as your subscription and the law require, and support emails until your question is resolved and then only as long as we need them for our records.

9. Deleting your data

You can delete DMV Bee's data yourself, or ask us to delete what we hold:

  • On your phone: delete the DMV Bee app. This deletes everything it stored: your answers from the first steps, your settings, lessons, answers, exam results and bookmarks. To clear only one state and license type, open Settings › Reset progress instead.
  • From us: email info@woze.app with "Delete my data" as the subject. We'll delete your support emails and any other information we can find from what you send us, and reply to confirm.

What we can't delete on request: usage events and problem reports carry only a random ID, not your name or email address, so we can't tell which ones are yours. We keep them as "How long we keep it" says. Purchase records stay with Apple, Google and RevenueCat as long as your subscription and the law require.

Deleting the app doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Google Play or the App Store first.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Since we don't link what we receive to you, we may not be able to find information about you, but write to info@woze.app and we'll help. You can also ask someone to make a request for you.

We don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.

11. Security and where information is processed

We use providers that encrypt information in transit and limit who can access it. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep what we receive to a minimum.

We and our providers are in the United States, and information may be processed there or wherever our providers operate.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.
